Hi, I’m Haven. I am a Perlino American Miniature Horse. I’m not a cream as a lot of people think. I’m much prettier. I have been through a lot in my two years of life. I was pretty malnourished when mom’s sister in law found me while shopping for another horse. She sent mom pictures and told her she had to help. And she did. Both of them came to pick me up. Not going to lie I was really scared, I hadn’t been off the farm before and I had no idea what the ladies were going to do. But I was so itchy and hungry as long as there was food I really didn’t care. 

They loaded me up and got me some very tasty hay, that I didn’t have to fight anyone for. I even got some grain. They trimmed off all my hair, turns out I was so itchy because I had mites, like really bad. Mom put anti mite meds on me and brushed it through my mane and tail so they didn’t have to be removed. I was dewormed and my hooves were trimmed, all before we even got out of the trailer. It took almost a month for me to feel better and by the 4th of July, I was healthy enough to go be part of my first petting zoo ever. I was still thin so mom brought the progress pictures below to show people how far I came. Mom just kept feeding me and giving me all the love I could handle.

Now I’m 100% better! I still love the snacks and petting zoo. Mom discovered that I have a tad of an underbite which may be partly why I was so underweight. I no longer get pushed around by anyone (except Lolli, but she’s my bestie so it doesn’t count). I’m so much better and mom is so proud of how well I’m doing.
