Cheshire Moon Farms
Cheshire Moon Farms started in 2017, with a herd of dairy and Savannah goats, with a few Boers mixed in. The Katahdins were a family affair and inherited.
In 2018, I fell in love with the Myotonic (fainting goat) breed. The savannahs were rehomed and the Myos became our main focus. Since then we have expanded and spend a lot of time working our traveling petting zoo around Iowa, and working on both our commercial and show lines of goats and sheep.

Sponsorships
Not everyone can own their own goat, sheep, or other farm animals. But we welcome your support for our animals. Sponsors will recieve monthly updates and pictures of their sponsor animal. You will be able to see what they have been up to and even have the opportunity to name newborn babies to your sponsor goat or sheep. We also have a line of apparel, all proceeds go to farm maintenance, grain, hay and of course animal crackers!

Hay: that is minimum 2lbs of hay/day for 155 days and minimum 3lbs of hay/day when pregnant for 210 days which is a total of 940lbs of hay per year. At current hay prices that is $136 per goat per year.
Grain: we usually only grain while the doe is pregnant and snacking. So 1lb per day for 210 days which is $80
So both hay and grain for a year for one goat is $216
